What is Shab e Barat?
Shab e Barat, also known as Mid-Sha’Ban, Bara’at Night, Nisfy Sya’ban, Nim Sha’ban, Berat Kandili or The Night of Records.

Shab e Barat is a Muslim celebration of forgiveness which takes place between the 14 and 15 of the eighth month in the Islamic calendar – Sha’Ban and this year it is on 28 March 2021.

What countries observe this day?

Countries that observe this fast include India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Lebanon, Iran, Azerbaijan, Turkey, Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Kyrgyzstan. The Salafi Arabs do not celebrate this holiday.
